About

Alien Music Club is the brainchild of Jonathan Pearlman, a veteran of the Western North Carolina Music Scene. He’s recorded over a dozen albums of original music and produced numerous successful shows. In addition to some tasty jazz/blues/fusion original material, JP has produced numerous successful stage shows including "The Doors: Unhinged" "AMC Rock n' Soul Revue" "Tom Waits: The Early Years" "Leonard Cohen: The Deep Cuts" and much more!

JP is an accomplished guitarist, citing heroes like Jeff Beck, Wes Montgomery, John Scofield and Wes Montgomery. Absorbing the voices and prowess of these geniuses translates into brilliant guitar styles he diligently hones, sharpens and refines. This discipline enables him to connect to his listeners in a unique and personal manner. Soft spoken and shy off stage he speaks to us from the heart on stage, and he does so effortlessly and fluently.

AMC is basically a musical collective, drawing on the talents of numerous talented musicians.

Curent band members include Chuck Lichtenberger on keyboards. At first listen, it is easy to note that his formal education in Jazz and music theory have trained his hands and ears. But underneath the surface, Lichtenberger is so much more than just a highly skilled piano player. One might be surprised to find Chuck shifting between metal, rock and pop on any given day. His diverse sonic interests are evident in his original compositions and provide for a multi-layered listening experience that is both uniquely complex and universally compelling.

Jaron Pearlman is a traveling jeweler, musician, author, and educator based out of Asheville, NC. For over ten years Jaron has been an entrepreneur and patron of the arts. His career and accolades include international touring as a drummer for The Indigo Girls, a BA degree in audio production, ownership of both audio and jewelry studios, and two published books in political science.

Ryan Kijanka began playing bass, guitar, and piano in rock bands at the age of 12, and has since performed various genres of music including: jazz, classical, funk, reggae, latin, tango and gypsy jazz. Mr. Kijanka regularly performs alongside some of Western North Carolina’s (WNC) finest musicians. He is a full time member of Sirius.B, who was voted WNC’s favorite all-around band five years in a row, and Upland Drive.

We will add more AMC alumni as time goes on!
